![]() I'll definitely use them again next year! Their tech support has also been super helpful & responsive (small Q submitted online & answered within hours). Tad-ah, I'm ready to send my e-file info thru CheckMark to the IRS & indirectly to WI. Since GP doesn't do e-filing, I bought CheckMark for ~$225 and it's super easy to use! I created a text file from the GP 1099 info then imported it into CheckMark. I'm in WI too and WI's new reduced e-filing threshold is not nice! I registered with the IRS FIRE program to e-file my 10099's with them and they'll send them to WI. As we only need to e-file for the state, we'll have to look for other options. Yes Chris we are but the problem is we don't use payroll so when I spoke with our contact at Wipfli, they mentioned Greenshades was fairly costly as you can't just purchase a portion of the software to e-file. Greenshades does not have a state specific e-file format, however WI participates in the Combined Federal/State filing program which makes things a little easier. These e-files have identifiers in front of each line (T, A, B, etc), which it sounds like your error is related to. There are various add-on options available however, including Greenshades. Valid identifiers are: T, A, B, C, K, FĪre you producing a text file that looks similar to the below screenshot?ĭynamics GP does not generate an electronic file for 1099s, for federal or state. Record 1 : Invalid record identifier on the input record.Record 1 : This record must be a length of either 748 or 750.Is this a user error or is there another way to get a file from GP that can be submitted to the state? The errors I had for each record were: (I initially scanned form A as a pdf but was told they only accept txt files) Still when I uploaded to the DOR I had multiple errors. I printed my 1099s to a file and saved as a txt on my desktop. This is my first year submitting 1099s electronically to the state. You can buy directly from their website and install is easy: They purchased the software (very low cost) and then chatted online to tell the W2-Mate folks that they're in Oklahoma - so W2-Mate sent them some Oklahoma specific instructions to create the file in the right format. I don't know about Wisconsin, but we have some quirky file rules for Oklahoma and several of our customers are using W2-Mate to create the file. Subject: Electronically Filing 1099MISC to the state
