This is extremely useful if you are doing something very complicated - like changing view points (linear panos) - melding perspectives (from different shooting locations), etc. The wider the data bus, the more cores along with the every byte of memory available on the graphics card, PTGui will run in essentially real time. Let me add that PTGui will utilize every processor cycle available out of your graphics card (the larger and newer the better), that it's able to steal. I will say that they certainly understand the technology problems very well. I posted a couple of questions - that pushed the envelope, and the developers (along with some expert users) answered very quickly with some creative solutions. I will say that PTGui is extremely supportive. It would have been really nice to have PTGui pick up the frontend UI engineers for Autopano and create the best of both. I also do linear panoramas (along with shift lens panos), which was pushing both Autopano and PTGui. I do milky way stitching and compositing - which pushes the technical envelope in a lot of different ways. It has matured quite a bit, but PhotoShop with some add in tools is still the gold standard. I wanted to use AP for everything and right out of the box it was not up to the task. ![]() I also have Affinity Photo - I was one of the beta users, and have somewhat fallen off the wagon. I do think that PTGui probably has perhaps the best underlying technology (especially their built-in masking capability) - but it's user interface could use some (well a lot of) work. I've used, I think all the various trials of most (if not all) the stitchers - and they all had their own small problems for my particular set of use cases. So, last year, with my decision make for me, I bought PTGui Pro. r/RoomDetective - What can you deduce from a photograph?įor many years I waffled between Autopano and PTGui - until GoPro knifed Autopano. r/Redditor_Pics - Redditors posting pics of themselves, family, and friends r/QualityPhotos - Professionals, intermediates, and beginners are encourage share their best work. r/PictureChallenge - Weekly topic/category of pictures r/PhonePics - Pictures taken from cell phones r/PhotoCritique - Post a picture and receive constructive criticism/advice for improvement r/GuessMyFirstName - Redditors share self portraits, you guess their name! r/ITookaPicture - Give and receive feedback r/Instagramshots - for sharing your instagrams! r/365PhotoProject - Year long marathon of taking and sharing photos r/PicRequests - Requests and assistance for photo editing r/PostProcessing - Noise reduction, sharpening, exposure blending, image retouching etc. r/Gimp (Free Download Here) - A free image manipulation program r/AmateurPhotography - A place for amateur photographers to share tips, images, tricks, advice and give advice r/Shutterbug - Lighthearted/fun subreddit for discussing photography culture and practice r/Photography - The main hub of all things photography related r/PhotoClass2023 - Join them as they revisit /r/photoclass and more r/PhotoClass - Intro to Photography Reddit style, w/29 lessons r/Cameras - Reviews, articles, blogs, videos, of cameras and gear r/AskPhotography - Ask anything here!
